Something stuck? Write to us.

Weissach Dev is a small studio, so your email reaches the person who made the thing you're asking about. We answer everything, usually within a couple of days.

To get a useful answer faster

Tell us your device (for example “iPhone 14” or “Pixel 7”), your iOS or Android version, the game version from the title screen, and what you were doing when it went wrong. A screenshot is worth three paragraphs.

01 Common questions

Where is my progress saved? Can I move it to another device?

Your progress is saved on the device you played on, in the app's own storage. There is no account and no cloud save, so progress does not follow you to a new phone, and we cannot restore it for you — we have no copy of it, by design.

Deleting the app deletes the save with it. If your device backs up app data to iCloud or Google's backup service, restoring that backup may bring your progress back, but that is handled by Apple or Google rather than by us.

I started a new journey by mistake. Can I undo it?

Unfortunately not. Starting a new journey clears the previous save immediately, which is why the game asks you to confirm first. There is no backup to roll back to.

Do I need an internet connection or an account?

No to both. Rust & Found runs entirely offline and never asks you to sign in. It makes no network requests at all — you can play it in aeroplane mode from start to finish.

Which devices does it run on?

iPhone and iPad running iOS 15.0 or later, and Android phones and tablets running Android 7.1 or later.

The game is landscape-only — turn your device sideways. It is a 3D game, so a very old device may run it warm or at a lower frame rate.

My rope keeps snapping and I can't cast any more.

When a rope snaps, the cast ends and you have to fit replacement gear before you can cast again. A basic rope and magnet are always free — open the replacement prompt, or the gear screen, and fit the basic rig. Taps on the water won't do anything until you do.

If it keeps happening, the find you're fighting is heavier than your rope is rated for. Sell ordinary scrap, buy a better rope, and come back for it.

Something slipped off my magnet and now there's a marker on the water.

That's working as intended. A find too heavy for your current magnet stays on the bed and leaves an anonymous marker where it lies. The marker survives closing the game, and you can tap it to cast straight back to that spot.

The game will not tell you what is down there, no matter how many times you try. Upgrade your magnet and go get it.

I can't find the thing the chapter asked me for.

Keep casting in that location. After six casts without it, the local who asked you for it offers a hint, and a golden glint appears on the water near where it's lying.

Story objects are heavy — between roughly 7 and 12 kilograms — so you will usually need at least the first magnet and rope upgrades before you can lift one at all.

Are there ads, in-app purchases or a subscription?

None of the three. You buy the game once. The coins in the game are earned by selling what you recover, and they cannot be bought with real money.

What does the game collect about me?

Nothing at all. No analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, no profile. The full detail is on the privacy page.

The music is too loud / I want the ambience without the soundtrack.

Settings has three separate volume controls — music, sound effects and nature — so you can keep the birds and the water and turn the soundtrack right down.

I want a refund.

Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, not by us. Use reportaproblem.apple.com for the App Store, or the order history in Google Play for Android. If the reason is something broken in the game, we'd be grateful if you told us as well so we can fix it.

I found a bug. Where does it go?

support@weissach.dev. Device, OS version, game version, and what you did just before it happened. Real bug reports get fixed and get a reply.
