Applies to Rust & Found and to weissach.dev · Last updated 14 October 2026

The short version. Rust & Found collects nothing. It has no analytics, no advertising, no in-app purchases, no accounts and no sign-in, and it makes no network requests of its own. Your progress is saved on your device and never leaves it. We have no way to identify you, and no database with anything about you in it.

1. Who this is from

Weissach Dev (“we”, “us”) is an independent game studio in the United States. We publish the mobile game Rust & Found and operate the website at weissach.dev.

For anything in this policy, including any request about your data, write to support@weissach.dev.

2. The game

What we collect

Nothing. Rust & Found contains no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, no crash-reporting service, no attribution or tracking library, and no in-app purchase framework. The game makes no network requests and does not need an internet connection to run.

What the game stores, and where

The game saves your progress locally on your device using the operating system's standard app-preferences storage. That includes:

  • which items you have recovered, and how many of each;
  • your coins, and the magnet and rope you own and have equipped;
  • which locations you have unlocked and which story scenes you have seen;
  • your audio and settings preferences.

This data stays in the app's own storage on your device. We cannot see it, and it is not transmitted anywhere. Starting a new journey from the title screen clears your progress, and deleting the app removes all of it. If your device backs up app data to iCloud or Google's backup service, that backup is handled entirely by Apple or Google under their own terms — not by us.

Purchases and downloads

Rust & Found is distributed through the Apple App Store and Google Play. When you download or buy the game, that transaction happens between you and Apple or Google, under their privacy policies, not ours. They give us sales and performance reports that are aggregated and anonymised — we can see how many copies sold in a country, but never who bought one.

3. The website

Analytics and tracking

There are none. This site runs no analytics, no tag manager, no advertising pixels, no session recording and no third-party tracking of any kind. Fonts and images are served from this domain, so loading a page does not tell any other company that you visited.

Cookies

We set no cookies. The site uses your browser's session storage for one purpose — remembering that it has already played its opening animation once, so you don't see it on every page. That value stays in your browser, is readable only by this site, and is discarded when you close the tab.

Our hosting provider may set a strictly necessary cookie for security and bot protection. It is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.

Server logs

Like every web server, our host records standard request logs — IP address, time, the page requested, and your browser's user-agent string. These are used only to keep the site running and to defend against abuse, are retained briefly by the host, and are not combined with anything else or used to build a profile of you.

Do Not Track

Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. California law requires us to tell you how we respond to it, so: there is nothing here for it to switch off. We run no tracking whether you send the signal or not.

4. If you email us

If you write to support@weissach.dev, we will have your email address and whatever you choose to put in the message. We use it to answer you and nothing else. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell, rent or share it. We keep support correspondence only as long as it is useful for handling the issue and any follow-up, then delete it.

Please don't send us sensitive personal information — we don't need it to help you with a game about pulling a bicycle out of a canal.

5. Children

Rust & Found collects no personal data from anyone, of any age. There is nothing in the game that asks a child for information, nothing that identifies a player, and no advertising or social feature. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, because we do not knowingly collect personal information from anybody.

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) asks us to say whether we knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. We do not — there is nothing to get a parent's consent for. If you are a parent and something about the game still concerns you, write to us and we will answer.

6. Your rights

We hold no personal data about players of Rust & Found. There is no account, no identifier and no record of you, so there is nothing for us to look up, correct, export or erase. The single exception is correspondence: if you have emailed us, we have your email.

California residents

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising — not now, and not in the preceding twelve months. You may ask what we hold about you and ask us to delete it. In practice the honest answer is “an email you sent us, and nothing else”, and we will delete it on request. We will not treat you any differently for asking.

The EU, the UK and elsewhere

Data-protection law where you live may give you rights to access, correct, delete and restrict the use of personal data held about you, and to complain to a supervisory authority. Those rights apply to any email you have sent us. They have nothing else to attach to, because we hold nothing else.

Either way, one address handles it: support@weissach.dev.

7. Changes to this policy

If the game or the site ever changes in a way that affects this policy — for example if a future update adds an online feature — we will update this page and change the date at the top before that version ships. We will not start collecting data quietly and document it afterwards.

8. Contact

If you need a postal address in order to make a formal request, ask at that address and we will give you one.
